Directions
Aventure Rivière Sauvage's base camp is located at kilometer 25.5 directly on the shores of the Noire River, in the municipality of Waltham (Quebec). It is at approximately 150 km from Gatineau/Ottawa, 30 km from Fort-Coulonge, and 50 km from Pembroke.
From Fort-Coulonge (Quebec):
- From the Marchand red covered bridge as a reference point (do not cross the bridge):
- 2.5 km on Highway 148 West up to Chemin du Lac de la Truite; turn right;
- 14.5 km on Chemin du Lac de la Truite up to Chemin de la Rivière Noire; turn right;
- 8.5 km on Chemin de la Rivière Noire (in front of the bridge)
From Pembroke (Ontario):
- Cross over to the Province of Quebec, towards the Isle-aux-Allumettes;
- ± 22 km on Highway 148 East up to Chemin de la Rivière Noire (passed the village of Waltham); turn left;
- 18 km on Chemin de la Rivière Noire (in front of the bridge)
From Ottawa or Renfrew (Ontario):
- Highway 417 West to Highway 17 West up to Renfrew;
- Highway 17 West up to Storyland Road;
- Highway 301 North (towards the Province of Quebec) up to Portage-du-Fort;
- Highway 148 West up to Fort-Coulonge, and follow above directions from Fort-Coulonge.
From Gatineau (Quebec):
- Highway 148 West up to Fort-Coulonge, and follow above directions from Fort-Coulonge.
From Maniwaki (Quebec):
- Highway 105 up to Kazabazua;
- Highway 301 South (towards Danford Lake) up to Campbell’s Bay;
- Highway 148 West up to Fort-Coulonge, and follow above directions from Fort-Coulonge.
